Christmas concerts from 4th MUSCAT — The Muscat Men’s Chorus (MMC) is ushering in the Christmas season this year with a series of concerts. The advent of yuletide will be proclaimed with the season’s debut performance at St Thomas Church, Ruwi, on Thursday, December 4 at 8 pm. The MMC will join hands with the Muscat Christian Harmony to make up an ensemble of 75 singers, who will regale the audience with a soul-lifting mix of African Spirituals, hymns, choruses, contemporary pieces, light classical music, Malayalam and Tamil songs. Both the choirs are directed by Dr Ebenezer E J Dev. Following the December 4 programme, the choir will perform at the PCO (Ruwi) carol service on Sunday, December 7. The highlight of the season is an evening of carols at the Indian Embassy, to be hosted by Indian Ambassador Anil Wadhwa on Wednesday, December 10 (entry by invitation only). |
