New projects worth RO 79.9m awarded
MUSCAT —
The Tender Board awarded projects worth 79.97 million rials during its first meeting of the year here yesterday. The projects include support for the 132/33kv tension power plant and the 132 kv tension double transport line between Ibri and Dhank (RO 31.4 million); construction of Wadi Ha't road from Al Hamra to Rustaq, fourth stage, part 1 (RO 14.2 million); Renovation of Accident, Emergency and Burns Unit (eighth stage) at Khoula Hospital (RO 9,979,982); construction of Alla'jal road — Bowa-Halban in the Al Batinah Region (RO 4,279,239); additional works for the Salalah-Thumrait road (RO 3,512,440); additional building (North A) for the College of Sciences at SQU (RO 3,498,581); additional works for the dry dock project in Duqm (RO 2,990,122); internal roads in Wadi al Ma'awil in the Al Batinah Region (RO 1,975,215); additional works for the construction of Courts Complex in Sohar (RO 1,090,790); additional works for the construction of Duqm Port (RO 755,729); supply of 20 MVA, 33/11/kv tension power transformer for Majan Electricity Company (RO 724,960); 20- classroom school for basic education for boys in Al Kharis in Seeb (RO 651,387); digital library for Oman Radio in Muscat and Salalah (RO 620,521); development of the commercial area from Tarkhis roundabout to Al Sharea roundabout in Al Buraimi in Al Buraimi (RO 544,914); asphalting internal roads in Al Misfat and Al Wariyah villages in Al Mudhaibi (RO 477,238); beautification of the commercial area in Al Tarif in Al Musanaa (RO 399,994); consultancy services for preparing the main plan for discharging the superficial water in Duqm city (RO 382,928); asphalting internal roads in Tanuf (RO 351,500); power transformers (33/11 kv) (20x2 MVA), circuit breakers (11 kv), batteries and battery chargers (110v & 30 v) (RO 337,077); Omani Women's Association building in Shinas in the Al Batinah Region (RO 330,298); additional works for computer maintenance at health institutions in various governorates and regions (RO 299,541); direct link devices of the Meteorology and Air Navigation Visual System (RO 225,044); additional works to supply computer programmers at the Directorate-General of the Royal Hospital (RO 123,480); and additional works for the construction and asphalting of Aqbat Shanah road in Al Qabil in the Al Sharqiyah Region (RO 104,600).

The board has also reviewed bids for the following tenders: Tender No (179/2009) rendering consultancy services for designing, supervising and management of the marine outfall works for the new wastewater plant in Darsait and the Athaiba Central Pumping Station; Tender No (197/2009): the engineering works, supplies and installations for the expansion of the Sulphur Split Unit and the Catalytic Recovery Unit's Draw Line at Mina al Fahal; Tender No (281/2009): rendering consultancy services for the design and supervision of the Khasab Hotel in the Musandam Governorate; Tender No (295/2009): consultancy services for quantity survey for the construction of Oman Conferences and Exhibitions Centre; Tender No (297/2009): construction of the wastewater network and plant at Misfat al Abriyeen in Al Hamra in the Al Dakhiliyah Region; Tender No (335/2009): construction of the Sumail Water Supply Network in the Dakhiliyah Region; Tender No (346/2009): expansion of the Third Generation of Omantel's Electronic Network (NGN); Tender No (397/2009): design and construction of a road linking Al Tarif Musanah)-Jima (Rustaq); Tender No (399/2009): expansion of the Barka Water Pumping Station Tanker; Tender No (400/2009): removal of stacked sand at Al Ashkharah Fishing Harbour in the Al Sharqiyah Region; Tender No (426/2009): construction of a power transformers station (20x2 VA) in Ibra; and Tender No (435/2009): expansion of Lima Water Desalination Plant in Musandam.
The board has also approved a number of Change Orders related to the ongoing projects, reviewed topics related to projects referred by ministries and government departments and took appropriate decisions in their regard. — ONA
